OP-Ed’s for Jill Stein, Ajamu Baraka of The Green Party

What is an op-ed?

An op-ed is an opinion piece linked to current events usually found opposite the editorial page in the newspaper. Op-eds are often about 750 words in length and are either written by local columnists who work for the newspaper, by syndicated columnists whose work is published in newspapers all around the country, or by outside, often local, experts (that’s you).

How will the op-ed’s for Jill Stein, Ajamu Baraka, Green Party work?

Each one of us who likes, supports Jill Stein, Ajamu Baraka, Green Party will write an op-ed for consideration to your local newspaper (big and small).

1. We need to see Jill Stein’s, Ajamu Baraka, Green Party signatures and endorsements written and reported on.

Reason: We need to see, and read more articles and news articles, opinion pieces on Jill Stein’s character, experience and what she stands for which is a vast contrast to what Hillary Clinton (Democratic Nominee) stands for, and recently doesn’t stand for in light of the recent Wikileaks podesta email releases about Hillary Clinton and the recent Trump tape scandal recording in which he talks negatively and in a vulgar way about women. Therefore people need to be introduced to the sane, logical, respectable and better option and that is Dr. Jill Stein, Presidential Candidate & Anjamu Baraka VP Candidate of the Green Party.

2. More articles, newspapers need to be writing about and publishing on Jill Stein’s “Green New Deal” which is largely misunderstood if understood at all.

A Green New Deal:
Create millions of jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, and conservation.-Jill Stein 2016 website

3. More local papers should be writing about Jill Stein’s student debt plan

Education as a Right:
Abolish student debt to free a generation of Americans from debt servitude. Guarantee tuition-free, world-class public education from pre-school through university. End high stakes testing and public school privatization. -Jill Stein 2016 website

4. Everyone that comes across a local newspaper should come across a positive piece on Jill Stein’s vast experience and honest, genuine character

Reason: People need to learn they have a better option than Hillary & Trump who are both surrounded by scandals and corruption. The better option is Jill Stein, proven advocacy with improving the lives of Native American communities, advocating for the improvement of environmental-health. Stein has helped lead initiatives to fight environmental racism and injustice, to promote healthy communities, to strengthen local green economies and to revitalize democracy.

Examples to mention in an op-ed:
Dr. Jill Stein was the Green Party’s 2012 candidate for President. She holds the current record for most votes ever received by a woman candidate for President of the United States in the general election. She is a mother, an organizer, physician, and pioneering environmental-health advocate. She has helped lead initiatives to fight environmental racism and injustice, to promote healthy communities, to strengthen local green economies and to revitalize democracy.- Jill Stein 2016

Jill Stein helped lead the fight to clean up the “Filthy Five” coal plants in Massachusetts, raising the bar nationally to a cleaner standard for coal plants. She helped close a toxic medical waste incinerator in Lawrence, MA, one of the poorest communities in New England. She played a key role in rewriting the Massachusetts fish advisories to better protect women and children, Native Americans and immigrants from mercury contamination.-Jill Stein 2016

In 2003, Jill co-founded the Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities, a non-profit organization that fought for the health and well-being of Massachusetts communities, including health care, local green economies, environmental protection, labor rights, and grassroots democracy. -Jill Stein 2016

Closing Quote “Our plans are to be in that debate,” Stein told “Democracy Now” in August. “It’s not just about whether our party will be included. It’s whether the American people will have a voice—whether we will have a real discussion of the crisis of jobs, of the climate, of race, of war and a crisis of a generation.” IBT International Business Times

I thought we were living in a peaceful world until the Paris and subsequent attacks worldwide. I then learned that such terrorist attacks have had a long history. I just didn’t pay enough attention to the news. Apparently, the sickness of terrorism isn’t cured; on the contrary, it pervades and has become a chronic disease. As a world citizen, I feel a great urge to do my part, however small, to contribute to world peace.
